We are currently accepting applications for the following positions in all locations:

Head Coach (2 Positions per camp)

The Head Coach is responsible for the successful operation of their Sports Discovery Camp location. Each Head Coach reports directly to the Camp Coordinator and the Management Team at head office which includes the CEO, Executive Director and Community Relations Director.

The responsibilities of a Head Coach include but are not limited to:

Training and supervising staff at your assigned location

Ensuring that all emergency procedures are taught and practiced by all campers and staff at your location

Ensuring a smooth pick-up and drop-off process at the start and end of each day

Communicating with parents, either in person of by phone whenever a parent seeks assistance or information about the camp or their children

Carrying out duties as assigned by the Camp Coordinator or any member of the management team which includes, CEO, Executive Director and Community Relations Director

Purchasing extra camp supplies when approved by the Camp Coordinator or Management Team

Managing Counsellors-In-Training (CIT) at your location

Leading Sports Discovery Camp activities with children of all ages when necessary

Performing duties as an Assistant Coach in an emergency situation should one of the regular Assistant Coach be unable

Completing administrative tasks which include completing incident reports, accident reports, following up on absent campers and other administrative duties as assigned

Engaging parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback

Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery with campers and your peers

Submitting to Head Office daily pictures and videos of activities taking place at Sports Discovery Camp within the confines of privacy laws

Attending the mandatory training day for all Head Coaches 

Completing non-paid Health and Safety Training 

Adhering to all Sports Discovery Camp policies including “Policy for the Protection of Children”

Adhering to the Activity Schedule and Training Manual

The successful applicant will demonstrate a dynamic and interesting personality and possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This position provides an opportunity to enhance leadership skills and build out the educational problem solving and people and time management sections of your personal resume.

Assistant Coach:(5 positions per camp)

A Sports Discovery Camp Instructor is responsible for the day-to-day supervision of campers who attend Sports Discovery Camp. Each Assistant Coach reports to the Head Coach. As an Assistant Coach, you will be guiding campers through Sports related activities centred around the topics of team building, leadership, confidence and respect. A strong foundation in these areas is a huge asset. An Assistant Coach must be fun and energetic but also have good group management skills. Assistant Coaches are responsible for implementing activities, respecting health and safety protocols, assisting with activity set up and exhibiting strong leadership and initiative skills.

The responsibilities of an Assistant Coach include but are not limited to:

Supervising and supporting campers aged 6 to 14

Assisting campers in learning about Sports Discovery Camp fundamentals through Sports providing a fun and safe environment

Assisting the Head Coach to ensure a smooth pick-up and drop-off process at the start and end of each day

Implementing the Sports Discovery Camp curriculum by leading activities with campers of all ages

Ensuring that all emergency procedures are taught and practiced by all campers and staff at your location 

Carrying out any duties assigned by the Head Coach

Mentoring Instructors-In-Training (IIT) at your location

Engage parents by providing appropriate and professional feedback

Modelling appropriate behaviour and creating positive interactions in all daily routines and program delivery with campers and your peers

Adhering to the Activity Schedule and Training Manual

Adhering to all Sports Discovery Camp policies including “Policy for the Protection of Children”

Completing non-paid Health and Safety Training

Attending a training session at your site prior to the start of camp

The successful applicant will demonstrate a dynamic and interesting personality and possess strong interpersonal and leadership skills. This position provides an opportunity to enhance organizational skills and build out the planning, problem solving and leadership sections of your personal resume.
